It’s that time of year again—the start of the academic season, where everything feels like a fresh slate. Whether we’re going back to school, helping someone prepare, or simply feeling the collective energy of new beginnings in the air, it’s a perfect moment to hit the reset button and start something new. September always brings a sense of possibility, like the first page of a new notebook, waiting to be filled with fresh ideas, plans, and dreams.
As we dive into this new season, we can think about the areas of our lives where we’re ready for a fresh start.
For the Light Chargers Podcast: Unlock the Power of Positive Affirmations
Welcome to Episode 1 of For the Light Chargers podcast! I’m so excited you’re here because we’re diving into something truly transformative today—Unlock the Power of Positive Affirmations. If you’ve ever wondered how changing the way you talk to yourself can actually change your life, you’re in for a treat. We’re talking about how those simple, little affirmations can shift your mindset, boost your confidence, and help you manifest the life you want.
Let’s Affirm
“I trust in the power of positive affirmations to shape my reality and attract abundance, joy, and success into my life.”
Navigating Friendship in Adulthood
With the academic year kicking off, it’s not just the kids who are stepping into new beginnings. We often find ourselves reflecting on our own friendships, too. How many of us remember how effortless making friends seemed when we were kids? But as adults, it feels a bit more complicated, right?
That’s why I want to share this amazing article from The Atlantic by Julie Beck, “How Friendship Changes in Adulthood.” It really got me thinking about how friendships evolve over time—especially as life gets busier.
Check out the article—it’s definitely worth the read. It is a great reminder of how friendships shape us at every stage.
Financially Preparing for Winter
As the chill of September creeps in, it’s the perfect time to start thinking ahead to winter. While we can look forward to cozy nights and snuggling in warm jumpers, we also know that winter can bring some challenges. The good news? We know it’s coming, so we can prepare! For many of us, our car is a lifeline, especially during the colder months. So, show it a little love now to save some cash and avoid headaches later.
Check the battery – Cold weather and car batteries aren’t the best of friends. Get it checked (many places offer this for free), to avoid any “surprise” breakdowns on frosty mornings.
Book a service – Yes, it costs a bit, but having a pro make sure your car’s ready for the winter roads gives a peace of mind that’s worth it.
Top up engine coolant with antifreeze– Water alone won’t cut it when temps drop. Antifreeze prevents freezing and can save on costly repairs!
Stock up on de-icer – Nothing beats the morning scramble without de-icer on hand. I’m saving myself the struggle, and keeping some in my car.
Check tyres – Good tread can be a lifesaver. Legally in the UK, 1.6mm is the minimum, but the more tread, the better for slippery roads.
Stretching to Start Your Day
As the mornings become darker, whether you’re a jump-out-of-bed person or someone who hits snooze a few times (no judgment!), how you start your day can set the tone for everything that follows. That’s why I’m excited to share this fab article from Emma Mitchell, a Physiotherapist at BUPA UK, “10 Morning Stretches to Help You Start Your Day.” It’s packed with simple, energizing stretches that will wake up your body and get you ready to take on the day with ease. Trust me, a few minutes of stretching can make all the difference—your body will thank you!
